George Stevens
Chief Executive Officer

George Stevens has extensive background in building successful healthcare delivery systems in partnership with physicians and hospitals. During twenty-five plus years, his career has tracked the evolution of provider, payer and patient relationships in America. After a career in the financing and government program administration of healthcare with insurers FHP and Aetna, in 1990 he took on the role of Regional Vice President of North American Medical Management’s western region where he oversaw the direct delivery and expansion of the company’s IPA delivery systems, business development, mergers and acquisitions. The company grew to $2oo million in managed revenues and in 1996 was sold to PhyCor, a physician practice management company. In 2000, George founded Health Matrix, a healthcare investment and development company, to assist healthcare entrepreneurs and their companies. One such company was Surgis, an ambulatory surgical company. From 2002 through 2005 George served as Senior Vice President in this venture backed, privately held ASC company. Prior to its merger with United Surgical Partners, Inc. for $200+ million, the company had developed, acquired or turned around 27 ambulatory surgical centers in fourteen states.
